The Solution
We adhered to noise restrictions and, due to limited access of a site with high footfall, adopted a just-in-time materials delivery model. Work undertaken included underpinning, lowering the existing basement level, temporary works, demolition of the existing internal structure and new steel frame.
The Challenge
Forcia’s team was faced with conducting all work whilst the below retail unit remained live, entailing the total strip out of all floors, re-roofing, reconfiguration of part of the staircase and the fit-out of apartments, including mechanical and electrical services.
The Impact
We sustainably upgraded the building whilst maintaining its period features and meeting strict planning regulations, in one of most famous areas of London. The project included several CDP elements such as new Schuco roof lights systems and architectural metalwork.
