Client: Grosvenor Estate
Value:
£8.5M

Forcia have completed the refurbishment of Buckingham Palace Road for Grosvenor Estate on a Design and Build basis.

The four-storey building sits in the heart of the Grosvenor Garden’s conservation area, Forcia are delighted to have reconfigured and refurbished the once office use building to 23 residential apartments for the section 106, affordable housing units, along with retail units to the ground and basement levels.

The retail floor spaces were completely refurbished and taken to shell & core allowing the tenant to fitout the space to their specific requirements.

The retail shopfronts and stone surrounds were completely replaced to bring them up to date. External works to the front, rear, side elevations and other associated works were also carried out. As a part of the residential element of the scheme, Forcia delivered the new build of adding an extra floor to the existing building to allow for 5 new residential units.  The site faced some challenges which needed considerable planning due to its location, as the site was situated on a double red route and it also backed onto one of London’s most prestigious hotels, The Goring.

The project was successfully handed over to Grosvenor Estates who have in turn handed the building over to accommodate social housing tenants with the retail units already partially let.
