Project

Project: Refurbishment of an Old Victorian School House to accommodate a new Sixth Form Centre
Client: Francis Holland School
Value:
£2.9M

Forcia were appointed to carry out the design and refurbishment of an Old Victorian School House to accommodate a new Sixth Form Centre at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square. The project was delivered to allow the Six Form Students to have a new attractive and calming space, to be used for studies and socialising.

Whilst Forcia were on site, the refurbishment of the project consisted of many parts, such as delivery of  a new science laboratory and prep room, seven new classrooms, a fitness suite, two staff rooms, a café, a cafeteria and seminar rooms. Forcia also delivered new corridors, stairwells, lifts, rooflights, fire rated internal glazed screens, an impressive “oculus” void together with associated drainage, other external works, external services and external lighting, together with all necessary off site works, site clearance, site preparation and demolition works.

Delivering the project was challenged considerably by the COVID-19 lockdowns through 2020. However Team Forcia, Forcia’s supply chain, the Project Team and The Francis Holland School collaborated together to deliver the works successfully, which were completed  in January 2021. The new completed project allows students to enjoy an inviting and calming environment from which to study.
