Project Description

Thomas’ London Day School, Battersea

Project: Creation of new multi storey classroom block
Client: Thomas’s London Day School
Value: £800k

As part of our successful on-going relationship with Thomas’s London Day school we have completed a further award winning project for Thomas London Day School in Battersea.

The scheme, which is known as Thomas’ Battersea Classroom Block sits on the school’s existing Grade II listed building. Works were limited to the Easter and Summer holiday periods.

Forcia worked closely with Claridge Architects and created a pleasant teaching environment with full height glazing overlooking the playground. The nature and limitations of this site required careful planning of all deliveries.

The works involved the construction of a double storey new steel framed building housing a block of classrooms, Structural openings to the existing facade walls to form entrance to the new blocks, new full height structural glazing panels, a new stone cladding system and a single ply roof finish.

The project was successfully completed in time for the new intake of students for the Academic year.
